The most beautiful villages of the Marais Poitevin
Arçais
This small city of character is located between Marais Mouillé and Marais Desséché.
It is a charming stage of the Marais Poitevin. The village still has an 18th century castle built on the site of a feudal castle.

Damvix
This old fishing village, quiet and lively all year round, is distinguished by its many small footbridges that cross the narrow “conches” of the Marais Poitevin. You can still meet real market gardeners there.
You will also discover its neo-Greek church (built between 1849 and 1864) and its superb bell tower. Composed of 3 naves and square pillars supporting a painted coffered ceiling on a wooden slatted vault.
La Garette
It is a village street clinging to the side of a hillock. It is located in the heart of the Marais Poitevin. It is here that the very first boat rides began in 1930.
Stroll along the pedestrian street, and discover the old houses of fishermen and farmers.
Their particularity: they have a double access, by water and by road.
